Biography Ere Lievonen (1972)

Ere Lievonen is a Finnish organist, harpsichordist, pianist and composer. As a performer, he is specialized both in early and contemporary music. He has performed in several European countries and the USA, and appeared on many
contemporary and early music festivals. After studying at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, he moved to the Netherlands to study further with Jacques van Oortmerssen (organ), Jacques Ogg and Annelie de Man (harpsichord), and Rafael Reina (composition), among others.

At present he is preparing his Master of Music degree in Contemporary Music at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. He is a founding member of Ensemble Ambrosius, a Finnish ensemble that plays contemporary music on baroque instruments. He plays regularly also in the Amsterdam-based contemporary music ensembles Axyz Ensemble and Collision Palace.

His compositions have been performed in Finland, the Netherlands and in Iceland.
